Being very strong-minded does not have to hinder your partnership. Genuinely strong relationships are made up of genuinely strong individuals, not one always acquiescing to the other. In fact, when one is consistently giving in to the other it leads to long term damage such as bitterness, deceit, frustration, separation, a lack of intimacy for couples and huge morale problems with companies. It really creates a very weak dysfunctional partnership at best and lawsuits at worst.
But who’s to blame? The harsh reality is, BOTH.
As 2 strong individuals unafraid of conflict (now), when each new battle occurs we strive to learn about each other and ourselves and to let that conflict make us into a better version of ourselves and thus the partnership. Additionally, every single conflict has created sparks that have ultimately forged a deeper bond. The deeper we go, the higher we can build.
This, I believe, is the pathway to becoming a “POWER COUPLE”, not Wickipedia’s definition for celebrity couples, which they cutely dub with a ‘portmanteaux’, the blending of 2 names into 1, (i.e.Brangelina) but a real life forging of the 2 becoming 1.
Conflict in any close relationship whether it’s business partnerships, friendships, or romantic relationships is inevitable & necessary if they are to have authenticity, depth and staying power.(Part of the healthy growth process)
So I recommend you check out our blog, cause that little ‘recipe’ (The 7 Step Process to Conflict Resolution) is one of our family favorites and one many spend a lot of money with us to have them teach them.
I guess what I am really wanting to say is there is no need to be afraid of conflict IF…
